Over the past few decades, the demand for energy has continuously increased across the globe. According to Coyle (2014), approximately 70% of the growing demand is from the developing nations, most notably India and China. Population growth is the main driver that is leading to the increased demand for energy. Consequently, importing energy sources will be the solution to meet the increasing demand. With regard to the growing demand for energy, this paper will look into China and India as geographical regions where the demand for energy is increasing.
